Starting Wage: $21-$22 an hour + benefits
Job Description
The Tour Supervisor’s main responsibility is leading and managing The Mammoth Site’s interpreter program. This includes managing, recruiting, and hiring seasonal and full-time staff, with CEO approval.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Recruitment, hiring, and training of Interp I and Interp II staff
- Creation of a training program for Interp I and Interp II staff
- Train staff in public tours and information to be disseminated to visitors
- Work closely with the COO to maintain staff morale
- Schedule employees to maximize efficiency
- Help Gift Shop Supervisor maintain stocking and ordering to limit shortages
- Promote/cross sale The Mammoth Site’s educational programs and various fundraisers
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where a majority of your shift will be standing with some bending and twisting
- Good oral communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to work weekends and evenings
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing and implementing training programs
- Experience creating employee work schedule/calendars
- Passion for teaching
- Passion for the earth sciences
