Maintenance
Job Description: Responsible for assisting in maintaining the building, grounds and museum equipment at The Mammoth Site. Adheres to safety and preventative maintenance systems and processes in the support of the museum.
Starting Wage: $17.00 – $19.00 FT/Hourly (based on experience) + Benefits
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Routinely surveys the buildings and grounds to identify and perform day-to-day maintenance of facilities and preventative maintenance/repairs
- Maintains the grounds, removes weeds, plants lawns, shrubs and flowers as needed. Carries out the seeding, fertilizing, watering as well as weed and pest control of the grounds
- Remove snow and ice from walkways and parking lots
- Assist with moving museum collections
- Construct new exhibit, educational and research materials as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of the use and maintenance of power equipment such as mowers, trimmers, drills, saws, etc.
- Ability to be flexible in project flow
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with a twisting motion in a safe way
- Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to understand and follow blueprints and instructions
- Broad knowledge of construction methods using various mediums (wood, steel, copper, etc.)
